What does an interim manager do?

An inte­rim mana­ger is a free­lan­ce con­sul­tant who advi­ses com­pa­nies both stra­te­gi­cal­ly and ope­ra­tio­nal­ly. An inte­rim mana­ger is the­re­fo­re not a gene­ra­list, but an abso­lu­te expert in his respec­ti­ve field, for examp­le in human resour­ces.
Inte­rim mana­gers are used when spe­cial pro­jects need to be imple­men­ted, new pro­ces­ses or tools need to be imple­men­ted, or high­ly qua­li­fied vacan­ci­es need to be brid­ged, for examp­le due to paren­tal lea­ve or ill­ness. The inte­rim mana­ger lea­ves the com­pa­ny as soon as the pro­ject is suc­cess­ful­ly com­ple­ted. In this way, the com­pa­ny can purcha­se exter­nal exper­ti­se for a limi­ted peri­od of time when it is needed.

This pho­ne call is for you to get to know me and my work. In return, I get to know your com­pa­ny and your cur­rent challenges.

2. personal appointment ‑online or on site-.

At this appoint­ment, I do a target/actual ana­ly­sis: What are your cur­rent pro­blems? How does the HR depart­ment work? What do the pro­ces­ses look like and what impro­ve­ments are necessary?

3. Concept creation 

After I get to know your com­pa­ny and the cur­rent chal­len­ges, I will deve­lop a sus­tainab­le con­cept so that you can work cost-effec­tively, more suc­cess­ful­ly and effi­ci­ent­ly in the future. Whe­ther you alrea­dy employ a lar­ge num­ber of peop­le or are just star­ting to build up your work­for­ce, my advice is aimed at both lar­ge com­pa­nies and start-up com­pa­nies. Taking into account your indus­try, your bud­get and your tar­get group, I will crea­te a tailor-made digi­tal HR stra­te­gy for you.

4. Implementation

After you have appro­ved the con­cept, it will be imple­men­ted in your com­pa­ny. As an inte­rim mana­ger, I sup­port you and your depart­ment on site to ensu­re that ever­ything runs smoothly.

5. Phase out

My tem­pora­ry assign­ment with you lasts as long as you wish. In the last pha­se of the so-cal­led pha­se-out, my deploy­ment times are redu­ced fur­ther and fur­ther until the pro­ces­ses are ful­ly imple­men­ted and all users feel safe.

Do I need an interim manager?

The use of an inte­rim mana­ger is always advi­s­able when you need expert know­ledge on call quick­ly and easi­ly. For examp­le, if cur­rent chal­len­ges can­not be sol­ved with the exis­ting pro­ces­ses and tools or to bridge unoc­cu­p­ied vacan­ci­es. Howe­ver, trans­for­ma­ti­on pro­ces­ses and the hand­ling of natio­nal and inter­na­tio­nal pro­jects also requi­re the use of high­ly qua­li­fied exter­nal experts. In addi­ti­on, do you want full cost trans­pa­ren­cy and pre­dic­ta­bi­li­ty and need expert know­ledge quick­ly and only for a limi­ted peri­od of time? Then the use of a free­lan­ce inte­rim mana­ger is a good idea.

How much does an interim manager cost?

Pay­ment is based on the agreed hour­ly rate. The hour­ly rate is based on fac­tors such as workload, tasks and respon­si­bi­li­ty, as well as the loca­ti­on. Sin­ce inte­rim mana­gers work on a free­lan­ce basis, you do not have to pay any social secu­ri­ty con­tri­bu­ti­ons. This means that you do not have to pay for down­ti­me, for examp­le due to ill­ness, and the risk is bor­ne ent­i­re­ly by the inte­rim mana­ger. This out­sour­cing of risk enab­les you to have a high level of cost trans­pa­ren­cy and pre­dic­ta­bi­li­ty, sin­ce only the actu­al working time is paid for. In addi­ti­on, the inte­rim mana­ger is avail­ab­le to you prompt­ly and will lea­ve the com­pa­ny as soon as the pro­ject has been suc­cess­ful­ly com­ple­ted or the vacan­cy has been fil­led. In this way, you bene­fit from expert know-how exact­ly for the peri­od in which you need it.
